NBC Rolls to Amazon.com to sell TV Shows
It most likely will not hurt Apple anymore than the iPhone price reduction fiasco, but now it’s been reported that NBC will be selling it’s tv shows through Amazon.com. How nice huh? Perfect for Amazon.com and NBC. I was wondering how long it would take for another company to swoop in and reap the benefits.
The reason NBC left Apple or Apple left NBC (however you want to see it) was Apple claimed that NBC needed $4.99 per episode. Much higher than the $1.99 they were selling for on iTunes. That was enough to send Apple running I guess, so NBC jammed and now they found a new partner in crime, Amazon.com.
More power to NBC, if the shows are that popular, most people will spend the extra money to download them. Since Amazon.com already has a download service, called Amazon Unbox, this should be a seamless transition for NBC. You can read more about it at Amazon.com
