SunRocket Flies Too Close to the Sun

SunRocket.com is one of the largest internet telephone start up companies.  And now, it is going out to end it’s internet telephone service and will be moving it’s exsisting customers to new companies.

Facing the pressures from cable telephone companies and the like, SunRocket has decided to throw in the towel and send it’s reported 200,000 subscribers to other phone companies.

SunRocket.com’s telephone service was offered as a $199/year for unlimited calls in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.  I for one thought that internet phone was a logical step up for all the cable and dsl companies to take.  If you can offer a better service packaged with others you offer, you will naturally increase profits for your company.

Bummer for SunRocket.  Chalk this one up to the big guys, even though I hate to do that too.
