Dell Knocked from #1 Computer Vendor

Hewlett-Packard is the one that knocked Dell from it’s top position last year and because of that, Dell is forced to sell computers in the retail market just to be able to compete.

Generally, Dell has only sold computers directly to consumers, but since Dell is not #1 they will have to make some changes to survive in a computer world.  Companies are offering computers to the average Joe for pretty much next to nothing.  This keeps Dell from pushing high end items that consumers won’t really need.  They can go to a big box store and purchase the bare minimum computer for a lot less, and they are doing it!  Dell already sells their computers in Walmart stores, but is being forced to expand that to keep up with competition.  Staples and Best Buy should be selling Dell computers in 2008.
