30 Days to Register Windows Vista? Not Anymore

I can’t believe Microsoft has this to begin with.  The require(ed) you to register your operating system within 30 days of installing Vista or the system will run in “out-of-grace reduced functionality mode.”  Why?

Do you register every single product you install?  I understand that it helps with copyright, but what if someone doesn’t do it within 30 days?  So what, maybe I want to register it in 1 year.  I don’t see the rush and I am quite annoyed that I am required to do so (which I won’t have to because I am not upgrading my OS).

But they will be updating your software with the service pack 1, scheduled for next year.  So, if you haven’t already registered, rebel and don’t for even longer now, just to show them you can’t be controlled :)
