Premium XBox Baby, with HDMI Port

Xbox has released a new, or improved, or whatever you want to call it, Xbox Pro.  This version of the xbox is cheaper AND has an HDMI port.  What is an HDMI port you ask?  HDMI is a “high-definition multimedia interface” port.  This port was only previously available on the more expensive Xbox system.

A rep. for Microsoft said that retailers are rolling them out little by little.

“Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners’ games and entertainment experience,” the representative said. “Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand.”

How do I know which systems have the HDMI port on them? Well, the new Xbox will have an HDMI logo on the box. Yup, right there on the box so that you know you are getting the “upgraded” cheaper version. Now, as far as the 65nm chips are concerned, the rep said nothing.

“We are constantly updating the console’s more than 1,700 internal components and therefore will not comment on details of specific components or manufacturing processes,” he said.

If you don’t know already the new chips will run cooler than the current chips. This was announced last year and Microsoft actually ended up extending the Xbox warranty to 3 year. A move which cost them a reported cool billion +. Keep an eye out, Xbox is evolving!
