My First Projector: Dell 2400MP
I started this blog because I am a geek when it comes to things like computers, technology, gadgets and other tech-type components. I know my way around a little bit in each category. Today I would just like to mention my love for movies as well. I love to watch movies, mostly comedy, but I will watch anything one time. That love for movies was a large factor in my purchase of the DELL 2400MP Multimedia Projector (CF902).
My fiance and I watch movies quite religiously, how else can you get around the commercials? So when I came about some extra money, I thought I would either get a decent flat panel television or a movie projector. As you can see, Iwe decided on the Dell 2400MP projector. At first I was so excited about it I just ripped it from the box, plugged it into my DVD player and I had a movie going on my living room wall in under 5 minutes. Once my initial excitement toned down a notch, I moved it into my basement, along with my surround and leather love seat.
The things I did like about my new toy was there were plenty of options to get just the right picture. Creating a screen was easy with some help from projectorcentral.com. I knew exactly where to hang it from the ceiling and how large of a screen I was going to need. I wanted one that fit as big as the wall would allow. In this case, that was 104″ diagonal! Not a bad home theater screen huh? I didn’t think so either.
I got a piece of 60 millimeter plastic from a nearby extrusion facility and painted in flat white, with a 2″ flat black border. Flat finish is important so you won’t see the glare from the ultra bright bulb.
Now I am ready for movie night. I am actually thinking about upgrading in the next month or so to one with more options and possible a better contrast ratio. Until then, check out the DELL 2400MP Multimedia Projector (CF902) for yourself and let me know what you think!
