Google to Purchase Ad Firm DoubleClick
The search giant has been trying to purchase Doubleclick for $3.1 billion. Google has been trying to jump through many hoops to make this deal final.
But Google can’t claim victory yet. The European Union’s antitrust commission still needs to sign off on the merger before Google can begin incorporating DoubleClick into its business. That may not happen without Google agreeing to certain conditions, if at all. Already, the EU has raised concerns about its impact on consumer privacy. “This is round one of a two-round battle,” says Jeff Chester, executive director of the Center for Digital Democracy (CDD), a nonprofit public interest group that opposed the merger. “The EU can kill the deal, there is no question about it.”
Basically, with this purchase, Google.com will have a large market share in online advertising. Things like this is what companies like Microsoft are arguing, is not allowable. We’ll see how it all goes with them. I am sure they’ll make the purchase before the new year so they can write it off ![]()

Today I have a post about a company that offers remote management solutions. Uplogix manufactures remote management solutions for computer networks that span multiple physical locations. When your network is down, their solutions mean time to recovery. The software allows you to fix, administer tasks and monitor activity. Dragonfi - Financing Developers - Press Release
The following post is a press release from a Florida based company called, Dragonfi. If you are a developer in need of some assistance, feel free to check out Dragonfi.com. The main focus is high profile developers that may have run into cash flow problems and need help because of that reason, read on.
Credit crunch? Dragonfi has found millions of dollars to help some high-profile developers out of their cashflow problems in 2007.
The reason? The dollar is cheap, and Dragonfi has direct contacts with overseas funding sources not readily available to even some large-scale developers in the U.S.
Added to that is the fact that Dragonfi’s expertise in the investor-focused residential loan market means they can rescue developers and make sure their pre-sales still close, even as other lenders find it harder and harder to get loans done.
Dragonfi is not a “vulture fund,” namely because they are not waiting until developers get into public trouble with their projects (which would be ruinous for many developments) but instead get in discreetly and quietly to help out existing ownership and retaining them as partners in the deal.
While many finance companies have met their maker this year, Dragonfi, by changing its strategy to fit changing times, will only get stronger as the real estate and mortgage crises only get worse.
And don’t think things aren’t getting worse, because 2008 is going to bring about new lows.

Shopping Online Made Easy
How many people do you think shop online? Well, it doesn’t really matter since we all know the number climbs every year. Either way, with more people looking to shop online than walking into the dreaded SprawlMart, web sites to make online shopping easier, have been popping up all over.
PriceGrabber.com
Most of the sites, like this one, are price comparasion web sites. These will allow you to search out an item, then will tell you where you can get the best deal. One of the fastest and easiest to use in my opinion.
eBay.com
This used to be a place that anyone could make a quick buck. Although that may be true if you hold the only 1907 baseball card that was printed with a photo of Bo Jackson on it, most small business or big box retailers are making their way to eBay. You can still find deals for just about anything you can imagine, but it will take you a little bit longer to find, or even WIN the item you are looking to buy.
So, if you are looking for something specific, especially for the holidays, take a look at eBay.com. Don’t forget that you don’t have to look at the big name stores online, just do a simple search for the item you are seeking. Don’t be afraid to shop just about anywhere online. There are reviews of stores that can make you feel a little more comfortable where you shop. Read about the store, look for the return and privacy policies and you should be all set.
