YouTube.com Technology to See What Material is Copyrighted

YouTube.com Logo“Video-sharing site wants recognition technology in place by September”

YouTube.com will be doing everything that they can in a couple of months to stop people from uploading copyrighted material.

The lawyer, Philip S. Beck, told U.S. District Judge Louis L. Stanton in Manhattan that YouTube was working “very intensely and cooperating” with major content providers on a video recognition technology as sophisticated as fingerprint technology the FBI uses.

YouTube.com has been trying to find a way to do this at least since Google.com has taken over. Viacom, Bourne Co. and The Football Association Premier League Ltd. have filed lawsuits against YouTube.com.  Hopefully it all works out, I would hate to see a cool site like that take a dump because of this technology.
