    Adding RAM To Your Computer

    43 views since June 18th, 2008

Computer running a little slower than it should be?  Have you thought about upgrading, but weren’t really sure where to start?

One of the easier, and first, things you can do to get an extra boost is by adding computer RAM.  Adding RAM to your computer can help speed up the boot process, programs that you run every day and can even improve your internet performance.  Overall, adding more RAM can increase how smooth your computer runs.

Adding another small amount of RAM can cost under $100, but it’s worth the extension of the computer’s life.  Most people just get a new computer not realizing they can just upgrade this or that and get a couple more years out of their computer.

One thing to remember is that you should be sure what RAM will fit into your computer BEFORE you buy any.  When you want to add IMAC memory, you can go to memorydeal.net to check and see what memory will go into your computer.

Memorydeal.net has a first-of-its-kind online service that guarantees that every piece of DDR PC2700 Memory, or any memory, will be the exact memory that was factory installed on your system.

If you work in the IT field and have been ordering RAM for networks of computers, you will be happy to see a service like this one!  Remember the problems only add up if you are trying to fit the wrong RAM into a computer.  It doesn’t matter how much money you might have saved, if the RAM isn’t correct, you will be paying more!

Technology + Wedding Invitations = Perfect Match

    35 views since June 12th, 2008

Occasionally I get to stumble across a website that is using technology that no other website like it has.  This week was one of those times.  1st Class Wedding Invitations website has a new feature that allows users to “zoom” in and see the great detail that is put into their invitations.

    Wedding Invitation

After checking over some of the invitations I really liked this one.  It looks real nice and if you see it on their website you can really zoom in to see the details.  Since my fiance and I have been together for 6 years this July, I thought it was a nice site to have stumbled on.

Technology isn’t just for gadgets.  Websites these days are using plenty of technology behind the scenes to make the user experience a better one.  A lot of people don’t realize that when you see something like this on a website (that ability to zoom in) that it’s all happening real time and behind the scenes.  It takes developers months, sometimes years, to come up with these technologies.  And after all that, they have to hope that it’s bug free.

I have been to my share of weddings in my day and the best part, in my opinion, is to see all the work the loving couple, their families and friends put into the preparation for their one big day.  With 1st class invitations like this, it would be quite evident that any couple did their homework before buying.

    Dual Monitor Setup

    57 views since June 2nd, 2008

Have you ever set up an additional monitor with your computer?  Ever think that you could do twice as much online as you already are?  I didn’t think I would ever be able to cram more things to do online than I already do, but I was wrong.

I recently added a 2nd 17 inch flat panel monitor to my desk.  I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner.  Now I can take care of all of my graphic and website editing on one monitor while I surf the net, update my blogs and buy things on ebay on the other monitor!  It’s awesome.

If you don’t know how to set up another monitor, the first thing you need to know is if your video graphics card can handle it.  Take a look at the back of your computer tower and see if you have another “S-video” or “HDMI” output available.  If you do, you are good to go.  I tested it with an older monitor that I had lying around just to make sure it would work before I spent the money on another 17 inch flat panel.

Once you have the 2nd on plugged in you can go into your display settings and choose to “extend your desktop onto this monitor” (monitor 2).  Once you have that all set, you can click and drag things onto your 2nd monitor and now you can multi-task like everyone else has been for the last 10 years.

Mario Kart Wii is FREE to Play, After You Buy It

    117 views since May 14th, 2008

Pre-ordering the Mario Kart Wii was the best thing that I could do.  Why, you ask?  Well, I tend to be doing so many things at once that I forget things along the way.  Since a friend of mine decided to send me the link at Amazon.com to pre-order, I figured I would get it over with.

Now that I have been playing Mario Kart Wii for about 2 weeks, I really must say that I think Nintendo can do no wrong.  What a fun, exciting, addicting game to play and with all the unlockables, battle mode and online play, you won’t be able to get to sleep because you cannot turn the game off!

There is so much to learn from the original Mario Kart.  That is one of the best things about newer versions of games that arrived on this planet years ago.  The companies like Nintendo keep changing it up just a little bit, enough to keep attention spans like mine…..doe, a deer, a female deer….in check with reality.

Mario Kart Wii hasn’t really disappointed me too much, unless you consider the fact the computer cheats.  It has been a fun experience and it still amazes me the Wii remote can make good with all the movements as I play games.

    WiFi Detector Tshirt

If you haven’t already felt the throbbing headache of setting up a wireless connection throughout your home, then you are a lucky person.  Just searching through ThinkGeek.com, I noticed a neat tshirt that could be a life saver when you are out and about, but need to have a wireless signal for the quick blog post or for checking emails.

With the Wi-Fi detecting tshirt you will never have to guess where the best signal is.  When you walk into your favorite cafe you will be able to get the strongest signal available by looking at your shirt.  That’s right!  This kick ass tshirt has a WiFi detector built into it.

The closer you get to the signal the more lights show on the tshirt, tell me that isn’t one of the coolest things ever?

You heard it right!  Some people are still denying the fact that the Nintendo Wii will not have a version of the newest hit game, RockBand.

Although these people seem to be wrong according to many forums and blogs online.  They state that RockBand will be available for the Nintendo Wii sometime in the fall of 2008!  That’s right, it is almost actually right around the corner!
